Ask the Team: Your Digital Questions Answered

Last week, you heard from our implementation team. The team shared answers to their most popular questions in order to improve independent pharmacy’s success online. In case you missed it, you can read it here.

This week you will hear from our Digital Marketing, Implementation, IVR and Success Teams and their answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Q1) How does marketing online benefit my business better than marketing in print, television, or radio ads?

A1) Bethany and Anyssa – Patient Engagement Team: In 2018, it’s no secret that social media drives the forefront of business marketing and advertising.

Digital marketing offers benefits like an overall lower cost rate to advertise as well as reaching a larger audience of potential (and existing) customers.

There are 2.23 billion monthly active users in 2018 on Facebook according to Statista.

Through Facebook ads, your business is able to reach a much wider customer audience than printing an ad in the Sunday paper. The notion of spending hundreds of dollars on print advertisements has become a black hole of value, with digital marketing offering a more cost-effective approach and a more efficient method of reaching customers.

According to Forbes.com, online advertising is set to overtake television ads as the most effective channel for reaching customer audiences.

With the growth of the Internet, more consumers are seeking out online searches for products and services rather than flipping through a newspaper or magazine.

Advertising online not only affords you access to these consumers, but it also grants you the ability to track customer responsiveness.

Today’s consumers are constantly checking their social media and email accounts multiple times throughout the day on their mobile devices. In a world where mobile browsing has surpassed desktop browsing in user convenience and accessibility, the need for digital advertising is more crucial to your business than ever before.

Q2) It’s been a month, why isn’t my website listed as the first search result on Google yet?

A2) Candace and Matthew – Implementation and Success Teams: There are several reasons why your website may not be getting immediate results.

If your new website has just gone live, chances are Google’s search engines have not begun to index your website quite yet. Google has thousands of websites it has to crawl through first.

The wait can be a few weeks to a few months. Google’s little bots are fast but not that fast. A way to vamp up their speed is to increase the number of searches for your website.

Once the searches begin pouring in, Google bots begin their crawl. There is not a set timeframe for indexing, it varies based on factors such as:

  • The popularity of the website
  • The number of external websites linking to it
  • Whether the content is crawl-able (server responses and content type)
  • Website structure (how the pages are interlinked)

When a search engine scans through sites, it will only prioritize pages it believes to be trusted and high-performing. While it may take time to build up the authority of your domain, there are plenty of things that can be done to ensure your website is headed in the right direction.

Our implementation team does a number of things to ensure your website is optimized efficiently for crawling and indexing. We optimize your SEO by ensuring the content we include is relevant to the subject matter and easy for the average user to understand, so you can attract the right visitors to your website. Our team closely analyzes the content of your site to create relevant and targeted keywords, which we include in the form of meta tags, headings, anchor text and alt attributes. Additionally, our team of experts will submit and verify your website through Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools (Bing and Google), so we can stay up to date with valuable SEO insights and adjust the crawl rate at which Google indexes your site.

While keeping pace with Google’s ever-changing algorithm is not easy, you can rest easy knowing our implementation team is doing everything in their power to ensure your website is a hit.

Q3) Can I personalize my greeting on my IVR?

A3) Aurea and Mark – IVR Team: Absolutely. You can record the greeting in your own voice. Although the length of the recording is up to you, we recommend you keep the greeting under 45 seconds.

You can change the recording as many as times as you would like. You can include a special greeting around the holidays, on the days leading up to the pharmacy being closed, during flu season, to let your patients know about a new promotion as well as to let your patients know how they can connect with your digitally. The types of messages and greetings you can record are limitless.

You can change your greeting in 4 easy steps:

  1. Call 786-235-9396 and record your greeting. Include your name, pharmacy name and then simply record your new greeting.

  3. Allow between 3-5 days for your new recording to be processed.
