We continue to be inspired by all the ways our independent pharmacies give back to their communities. Check out what Digital Pharmacist’s team is doing to give back this holiday season.
In February and November of this year, Sandra and Anyssa headed down to Mexico to provide health care to the people of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico.
In November alone, they were able to provide health care to 232 people of all ages. This trip was somewhat challenging for them because the clinic was to be completely set up on a street in one of the neediest neighborhoods. They built a check-in station, a waiting area, seven patient rooms, a pharmacy, a dental clinic and a kids’ game area on a dirt street in Ácoros.
If Sandra is not interpreting for the medical staff, you can always find her happily holding and feeding a baby.
Anyssa had a pretty cool set up this trip. Hook ’em horns!
Anyssa volunteers on Wednesday evenings at Hope Clinic in Austin. Part of the Get Up Project, Hope Clinic provides free health care and related services to refugees and other underserved populations in Austin. She and the team of volunteers provide care to more than 50 patients per month.
