Round 2: Ask the Member Success Team

Last week you met Katie, and got an answer to her most common question "How does marketing online benefit my business better than marketing in print, television, or radio ads?". This week you'll meet Digital Success Expert, Daniel, and get his $0.02.

Meet Daniel, Digital Success Expert, and RxWiki’s resident military brat. Daniel prides himself on successful Facebook statuses, and really doesn’t like humidity or awkward silences. Check out his answer to one of the most common questions he gets from pharmacists.

Q: How can I promote my Digital Pharmacist website and mobile app to my patients?

Becoming a Digital Pharmacist means offering convenient and helpful online services, but your patients must first be aware of your website, mobile app, or social media platforms if you’re going to reap the true benefits of the program.
To this end, we’re happy to help with a few best practices for patient engagement!

A good first step is to visit our page of printable marketing materials to help spread the word. Print out and display some of our flyers, bag-stuffers, or table-tents to ensure that every patient who walks into your pharmacy leaves with knowledge of the digital services you have on offer. Each piece is beautifully designed, and I’ve often been tempted to print and frame a few for my own home decor! …Okay, that might be a bit extreme, but they ARE aesthetically appealing, informative, and effective. Plus, they’re available for the low, low price of free!

Most important, however, is to ensure that your staff is motivated and prepared to mention your website or mobile app during any and all conversations they have with your patients. As naturally as a staff member offers a warm greeting, so too should they mention that your pharmacy offers online refills via your website or mobile app. If every patient who calls in to your pharmacy to request a refill is informed of your online presence, chances are great that they will opt for the ease and convenience of digital refills 24/7 in the future.

Living in the age of viral posts and social news-sharing, the power of word-of-mouth information transference is undeniable. Utilizing this tactic to maximize your patient engagement is a surefire way to make the most of the Digital Pharmacist program, and to strengthen your online presence as a whole.
