Warning: Beware of Email Sender “iDNS”

Our Director of Member Success, Alexis Mintz, was performing a routine check through domain-related emails when she came across something a bit alarming.

The message was regarding a domain renewal – nothing out of the ordinary. What was startling was the sender name, iDNS. We only purchase domains through our GoDaddy account, so the company name was immediately a red flag.

Fearing that the affected pharmacy may have received the same email, Alexis quickly prompted Member Success Rep – Daniel Sanchez, to call Bellard’s Family Pharmacy and warn them NOT to pay $80 to this iDNS company.

Daniel immediately phoned Denise McDaniel to notify her of the fraudulent email. While on the phone Denise asked Daniel to stay on the line while she asked her staff if they’d seen the email. Unfortunately, Denise found out that someone on the staff was in fact deceived by the mail, and had mailed a check.

Luckily, Denise was able to contact their bank and cancel the check in time.

We’d like to take this opportunity to caution all pharmacies about internet scams. If you see a notification from iDNS, please DO NOT pay them. If you are unsure whether something is a scam, let us know and we will help you determine if it is legitimate.
